Tornado causes damage in Clearwater Beach

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Damage was reported in Clearwater Beach following a tornado Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service states that Tampa Bay and Ruskin areas are under a severe weather threat due to strong storms.

Clearwater Police Department shared images from the tornado that touched down on north beach. At this time no injuries have been reported.

Trees, homes, and cars were damaged by the tornado. Debris can be seen along the street.

NOAA has issued a tornado watch for four counties in East Central Florida. As of 9 a.m. Ocala was under a tornado warning.

Two long-track tornadoes blew across the Bay area overnight, bringing some damage to areas in Citrus, Pinellas and Pasco counties, reported BayNews9.

SWFL is experiencing winds and is forecasted to have scattered storms this evening.
