The National Hurricane Center is tracking two tropical storms currently in the Atlantic Basin— Bret and Cindy. Neither storm will impact SWFL.
Bret has been continuing to weaken as it moves through the Caribbean. According to the 5am advisory from the National Hurricane Center, The tropical storm now has wind speeds of 45 MPH.
It is forecast to further weaken and become post-tropical later tonight or tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Cindy has slightly strengthened overnight. Cindy, about 650 miles east of The Lesser Antilles, is moving WNW at 15mph with sustained winds at 60mph.
Additional strengthening is forecast over the next day or so, followed by gradual weakening as it encounters higher shear. There are no tropical storm watches or warnings for Cindy.
