Re “New records detail sexual misconduct allegations against fired San Diego Unified superintendent” (Sept. 17): My decision to never vote for another school bond in this state or county has been confirmed by the district’s decision to fire Lamont Jackson in a way that entitles him to a half-year of salary as severance. What an incredible waste of money.
Reading the evidence against this man would lead any normal person to state there was absolutely cause to fire this person. There is evidence he abused his power to coerce sexual favors and that when he was rebuffed, he demoted the women who stood their ground against him. What other cause would trustees need? So the board decides to absolutely waste taxpayer money to pay this man off and send him on his way to possibly victimize others elsewhere?
No more money for schools that would waste so much money that could go to the students until officials clean up their act, massively cut the fat from the top in the district and concentrate on teaching the youth, as they are meant to do.
