“I just took in every moment that I could,” Trinity said.
“It’s been a blessing to play with both of my sisters. … We’re always family no matter what happens,” London added.
“They both make me better,” Destiny said.
Clarksburg, which lost in the region final last season and in the state final in 2022, led for most of the first half and had a six-point cushion in the third quarter. B-CC (25-3) erased it instantly with a pair of threes from guards Anna Tercyak and Elisha Robinson.
Junior guard Frances Doyle hit her own three shortly after, part of a 12-2 Barons’ run that put them up four with under two minutes left in the third quarter.
The game was taking on the look of the last matchup between the teams, the Montgomery County championship in late February. The Coyotes had a commanding 17-point lead in the county title game, but the Barons marched back with a scoring flurry to win by five.
“There were a couple moments I was thinking, ‘Here goes a county championship again. Let’s tighten up,’ ” Clarksburg Coach Sissy Natoli said. “And then we had a great steal or a great bucket and got us right back in.”
Learning from those earlier struggles, the Coyotes (25-2) stayed poised this time. London drew a charge. Trinity, who finished with 12 points, scored five straight to retake the lead.
“This was our get-back game,” London said.
She was most often the recipient of the B-CC crowd’s jeers but remained unfazed.
“I really don’t care. You want to talk? Talk. That’s my favorite thing because I’ll talk back. … I’m always feisty,” she said. “ … If you want to bark at me, I’m going to bark back.”
The teams entered the fourth quarter separated by a point, and neither could pull away.
Destiny, who had a game-high 13 points and 13 boards, and London, who had 11 points, hit back-to-back shots to put Clarksburg up three, but Barons junior guard Jaylin Harried finished through a foul and completed the three-point play to tie the score at 34.
With two minutes remaining, Clarksburg held a one-point lead and the ball. Destiny maneuvered her way inside for a layup. She grabbed a steal on the ensuing possession, and Natoli called a timeout.
Destiny later got fouled, hitting one of two free throws — her only make on seven attempts — to give Clarksburg a four-point advantage. The Coyotes held on and avenged their county title loss by beating the Barons to clinch the ultimate prize.
