Two dead after weekend Waukegan shooting

A second person has died from a weekend shooting in Waukegan, according to Lake County authorities.

The victim, a 24-year-old woman, died Tuesday, the Lake County Coroner’s office said.

The other victim, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting Saturday in the 400 block of Powell Avenue, according to Waukegan police.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing, police said.

Police responded at 4:22 p.m. Saturday to the Powell Avenue address. The man died from gunshot injuries, and the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Additional details of the shooting were not available from authorities.
