The Vancouver Police Department says it is investigating after a suspicious package was found Thursday.

Const. Tania Visintin tells 1130 NewsRadio officers responded to reports of the package outside a building near Hamilton and West Georgia.

“VPD’s Emergency Response Team is on scene while the investigation is underway,” Visintin said around 8 p.m.

“As a precaution, the roads surrounding the building have been closed.”

Visintin could not provide an estimated time of reopening.
