Social jet lag happens when a person’s sleep pattern varies on weekdays compared to weekends, often due to socializing late into the night or having extra time during the day. While it may seem harmless, social jet lag has been linked to fatigue, insomnia, stomach problems and increased risk of depression, anxiety, obesity and cardiovascular disease.
