A conversation with Mindy Morgen, vice president of marketing and health education at Regal Medical Group:

Q. Why should everyone review their health coverage during Open Enrollment?

A. Medicare benefits change each year.  With the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) already in progress and significant adjustments on the horizon related to Medicare’s prescription drug (Part D) coverage,  now is the time for Medicare beneficiaries to have their healthcare benefits reviewed by a licensed Medicare insurance agent.  The agent can review their current coverage to determine if it still meets their needs for the coming year and offer other personalized options to ensure they have the coverage required to meet their unique needs for 2025.

Q.  What are some key things to consider when choosing a plan?

A. There are several things to consider when choosing a plan. It’s important for members to consider healthcare needs, including any chronic conditions or medications they take. They should select a plan that covers their primary care physician, specialists and hospitals. Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans can offer extra benefits such as vision, dental, and other wellness programs.

Members will also need to factor in and understand premiums, deductibles and any copayments that affect their budget. They should also ensure they have prescription drug coverage (Part D) to cover all of their medications.

Finally, they should take time to discuss their healthcare needs with family and loved ones who help make healthcare decisions. We recommended speaking with a licensed insurance agent who can guide them in finding the best Medicare plan with the knowledge and confidence that will enable them to make informed choices about Medicare coverage for 2025.

Q.  What makes Regal Medical Group a great choice for those who are looking for a plan?

A. When members select a plan, they also choose a medical group. Choosing the right medical group is one of the most important decisions they can make. With the right care team by their side, they can feel confident their health is in good hands.

Regal Medical Group knows quality care is more than seeing a doctor when a member is sick; it’s about having the right resources to be able to live well. Being part of the largest doctor-led network in Southern California means more options to make better choices selecting healthcare providers to fit their needs.

Q.  Once someone is enrolled, how do you help them get the right care, when and where they need it?

A. Once members enroll with Regal Medical Group, their healthcare journey begins, and Regal guides them through every step along the way. Regal hosts Member Orientations in many convenient locations for new members to attend, allowing them to learn about how the medical group works with their health plan, navigate their healthcare options, and discover the free programs and resources available to support their overall health and well-being.
