Six young scientists at the Sanford Burnham Prebys medical research institute in La Jolla whose studies involve genetic disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, heart failure and aging were honored Sept. 17 at the 23rd annual Fishman Fund Awards ceremony at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine.
The 2024 honorees are Huijie Huang, Kelly Yichen Li, Chiara Nicoletti, James Marchant, Jessica Proulx and Zinia D’Souza.
The Fishman awards are given to exceptional postdoctoral scholars to support their research. The awards are named after Dr. William and Lillian Fishman, co-founders in 1976 of the La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation, which eventually became Sanford Burnham Prebys. ♦
